Hi I’m Alvaro! 👋
I'm a shoe obsessed consultant. I need nice shoes for work and I think Chelsea's are the most versatile shoe. I spent 100+ hours researching to find the best one.

Hey there!
My name is Alvaro and I am active and on my feet a LOT. As an entrepreneur and consultant I'm always on the move.
Ever since, I was little my family (especially my mother) always stressed the importance of looking the part and representing yourself well professionally. As a result, looking sharp and finding clothing that not only looks great, but feels great has been something I love spending time on.
Over the last ten years as athleisure has become more popular it's been incredible to watch men's fashion get influenced by that particular bug as well. Traditionally, suits, dress shirts, blazers and anything that is usually more "formal" has come at the expense of comfort.

For example, SuitSupply has become my go to brand for all things suits, blazers, and pants. They have a modern look with a comfortable and athletic feel. I've got a different playbook for dress shirts (which I will share soon, stay tuned!), but one item in particular that had eluded me for a while was more formal shoes. To be honest, I have a ton of shoes, but most of them leaned too heavily into the style category and not enough into comfort. I'd often get blisters and over time my feet would just hurt.
Recently, I decided to go deep into the world of formal shoes (Chelsea Boots, tuxedo shoes, etc) and see if I could find something that both looked and felt great. I spent a ton of time researching and testing different types of shoes.
I decided to compile what I've learned and share it more broadly because I know other people have the same goal - to find something that looks great and feels great that they can wear in both formal and more casual settings.
I hope this research is helpful to you and shortcuts the process. After doing a lot of research myself I learned that many people like myself have similar questions. I hope this helps!
To your style and comfort,
Alvaro
